Dr Nabeel Ilyas

Nabeel Ilyas is a Consultant in paediatric dentistry and current Head of Service at Birmingham Community Health Care NHS Trust, mainly based at Birmingham Dental Hospital.
Nabeel graduated from King's College London in 2015. Following a year in general practice in the Berkshire deanery, he completed Oral and Maxillofacial training in Queen Alexandra Hospital in Portsmouth and further training in Bristol Dental Hospital in both paediatric and restorative dentistry.
Nabeel completed his specialist training at King's College Hospital alongside being successfully awarded an MSc with distinction in paediatric dentistry from King's College London. He has gained a wide range of experience in managing children with trauma and was awarded first place in the prestigious Dental Trauma UK case report prize in 2021. He has published in multiple national and international journals.
His interests include acute and long-term trauma management, managing anxious children, and the use of inhalation sedation.

Dr Claire O'Reilly

Dr Claire O'Reilly is a Specialist in Paediatric Dentistry. She graduated with honours from King's College London in 2016 and has since gained further postgraduate qualifications, including MFDS and MPaedDent from the Royal College of Surgeons. She is currently completing an MSc in Clinical Research.
Claire has a wide range of clinical experience, having worked in general practice, oral surgery, paediatrics, epidemiology, and research. She completed her specialist training in Paediatric Dentistry in the West Midlands, working as a registrar at Birmingham Dental Hospital, as well as managing medically complex children at Birmingham Children's Hospital. She is also qualified in inhalation sedation.
She now also works within the NHS Community Dental Services, providing care to children and families, particularly those with special educational needs and disabilities.

Dr Anika Shah

Anika is a Specialist in Paediatric Dentistry, currently undertaking her consultant training across Birmingham Dental Hospital and Leicester Community Dental Services CIC. She graduated from King's College London in 2018 and has since developed extensive experience across general practice, community, and hospital settings.
Her postgraduate training includes roles in community dentistry at Bedfordshire Community Dental Services CIC, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Northwick Park and Wexham Park Hospitals, and paediatric dentistry at Guy's and St Thomas' Hospital and Birmingham Children's Hospital. Anika completed her specialist training in Paediatric Dentistry across Worcester Community Dental Services and Birmingham Dental Hospital.
Anika has experience in caring for children with a wide range of dental needs, including dental trauma, developmental dental conditions, and those with complex medical backgrounds. Her clinical interests include the management of dental trauma and providing treatment under sedation for anxious children. She was honoured to be awarded first prize in the Dental Trauma UK Richard Welbury Case Report Competition in 2024.
Anika is committed to delivering thoughtful, personalised care in a calm and supportive environment, working closely with children and their families to ensure every visit is a positive, reassuring experience.
